Descriptions:
The place where I live is under a difficult moment in recent years. Feeling uncertain about the future, some of my closest friends and relatives chose to leave – leaving the place where they grew up, leaving people whom they love, to shores far away from their beloved roots.
In a farewell gig I attended as an audience recently, my friend, a guitarist in the band, covered a Canton pop song called <The Best is Yet to Come>, before he permanently left this place. The hook lines of the song was like this: “To hug someone, to kiss someone, The best is YET to come”. Impressed by the performance and the lyrics, the story of Pandora’s Box was recalled: although several evil catastrophes were released after Pandora opened the mysterious box, HOPE remained, and it’s indeed the HOPE which makes us move on. With this in mind, I modified one of my harsh noise / drone work in progress, added the bitter-sweet soothing synth sound at the end of the track which represented HOPE, and the track <Pandora’s Unbox>, was then unboxed.
